Kids Alarm Clocks To Wake Heavy Sleepers

Posted by in Featured

If your child is a heavy sleeper, you may be able to relax and enjoy a good night’s rest, but I bet your morning routine can be stressful. Running late in the morning is a horrible way to start the day, so I’ve tracked down some unusual ways to get your kid out of bed bright and early.

I haven’t just picked out realy loud alarm clocks, for a couple of reasons. Firstly, you may not want everyone in the house yelled out of bed at the same time. And secondly, some children are totally unresponsive to the traditional beep of an alarm clock, no matter how loud that beeping is.

So take a look at these unusual alarm clocks for heavy sleeper kids.

Get Up, and Get Moving – Run Away Alarm Clock

Clocky by Nanda Home Inc, $49.99

Clocky makes sure your kids jump out of bed by running away. When the alarm sounds, your kid gets one chance to press the snooze button. After those few minutes, Clocky will beep again, jump right off the night stand and roll away. So to silence this robotic pet (or maybe pest) they have to get out of bed and chase him across the room. After all this excitement, your child will surely be wide awake and ready to start the day.

The little round blue alarm clock in the video is Tocky – he didn’t make it to the same level of popularity as Clocky, which is why he’s not on my list.

Shake Yourself Awake – Vibrating Alarm Clocks

Sonic Boom by Sonic Alert, $39.99

This is the Sonic Boom Vibrating Alarm Clock from Sonic Alert. Parents of boys will be pleased to know that the pink isn’t compulsory – they also make a silver circle model.

This alarm has three options, or you can use them all together for the strongest wake up call ever:

  • A loud wailing alarm siren
  • Flashing lights
  • A vibrating pack, attached to the alarm clock that you can place under your mattress or pillows

Be Gently Woken By A Sun Rise Alarm Clock

Phillips Wake Up Light, $99.99

Before we started to let clocks rule our lives, we followed the Sun to bed at night, and rose with it in the morning.

Our bodies are still programmed to wake when it gets light, so take that instinct and use it your advantage with a natural light alarm clock.

The alarm works by gradually increasing the brightness of the light for 30 minutes before the time you have set to wake up. This prepares your body for the morning, so when the radio / nature sounds alarm goes off, you can wake up gently.
